About Costd

Costd is a cost planning and quote checking service for architects, designers and people about to build. Every number comes from a library of finished houses: what each trade actually cost, what the quotes said, what the job came to. Not a rate book.

Why real build costs, not a rate book

Rate books give the same number to every job in the country. Finished houses show where the money really goes: the allowances that blow, the exclusions nobody reads, the items that are never in the quote. Our plans carry the builder’s margin as a printed line, not a hidden one.

How a number gets made

Take-off from your drawings, a checklist of every trade, a hunt for provisional sums and prime cost items, the twenty-question interview, then pricing from the library with named allowances. Every plan passes an audit before it leaves. You see the drivers and the assumptions, not just the total.
